Did you see John Sarbanes’ congressional campaign ad? He won the primary and is favored in the general because of the lean of the 3^rd CD, but what a cheesy ad.

And you’ve got to feel for Alan Lichtman and his wife, Karyn Strickler, who mortgaged their home and spent months running hard for the U.S. Senate. Few thought they had a real chance, but finishing behind someone who this writer has never even heard of? I mean, Mfume and Cardin were the clear leaders, Rales bought a few % points with $4 million, and Rasmussen (fmr. Balt. Count. Exec) had name recognition in his area and a few moderate voters. But unless voters thought that someone named Michael Schaefer was the former governor and Balto mayor, you’ve got to wonder how this happened. Who is Michael Schaefer?
