Election? What Election?

Does anyone else find it surprising/annoying/depressing/stress inducing to realize that we are 15 days from a general election with two hotly contested statewide election races at the top of the ticket, and there has been, as far as I can tell, not one single solitary piece of campaign direct mail sent out in Montgomery County yet?

Is this true in other counties? It's kind of freaking me out, honestly.

While I am sure the mailman's sciatic nerve is happy about this, as a MoCo Democrat, it leaves me a bit chilled. Just because Montgomery County is going to vote overwhelmingly for Cardin and O'Malley doesn't mean there shouldn't be direct mail, GOTV and all that stuff we did in September to maximize votes for the statewide candidates.

To Cardin and O'Malley: send me some mail, please. To local countywide candidates: just because you're destined to win doesn't mean you shouldn't help good 'ol Marty and Ben. Because those bullies Bobby and Mike are not your friends, know what I mean?

The campaigns are working together. And there is activity --my guess is you are not going out to political events and therefore you are not plugged in.

The target is obvious, in fact, I saw it in Sunday's Post. If you are a frequent Democratic voter than you are not the target like you were in the primary.

This is a race of getting out the Dems that tend to vote in Pres. General Elections but NOT Gov. General Elections -- "Drop off dems".

I have been a part of many a "coordinated campaign" and this one seems to be our best effort to date.

Come this Sunday to Blair HS at 2:30 (IIRC) for a rally of all the Democratic campaigns. You will be able to join coordinated effort there.
