Property Tax Cut
The Maryland Senate unanimously adopted a version of a $26 billion state budget yesterday. One notable difference between the Senate and House versions is the removal of the Property Tax cut passed by the House. The House of Delegates proposal would reduce property taxes by $48 per $100,000 of assessed value, amounting to something close to $100 per home owner. This is expected to be the most divisive issue facing the House and Senate committee selected to negotiate a joint resolution.
